SSLC IN SIX MONTHS (SECONDARY COURSE) NIOS
The candidate who completed 14 years of age can apply for this course and has NO AGE limit . Including multiple languages there are 13 subjects(options) to study and every students should select 5 subjects . 2 languages are compulsory and the other 3 subjects are free to choose. For these three subjects students have choice to write exam in English or Malayalam.
Students who complete this course successfully are eligible to apply for both state and central government jobs

PLUSTWO IN SIX MONTHS (SENIOR SECONDARY COURSE) NIOS
Those who completed 17 years in age and passed SSLC is eligible to do the course. 17 subjects and 2 optional languages needed to be learnt for the exam. Except science subjects, main exam can be written either in Malayalam or in English. Students who successfully complete the plus two course are eligible for the Engineering, Medical, IT courses as well other professional courses.
All national universities across the country are recognizing and accepting this course as their eligibility for the higher studies. The importance of Plus Two education is increasing as it is consern as the basic requirement for many jobs including PSC and UPSC. (State and Central government job providing authorities)

Best part of nios secondary and senior secondary courses exams from nios board is the failed students either in sslc standard or plus two standard need not appear for all the subjects again. Nios board offers transfer of credit (toc) in respect of maximum two subjects passed in their previous board exams. The marks in these passed subjects are transferred to the nios board certificates and a student has to appear for exams in fail subjects only
